Japan PM Takaichi poised for landslide

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae TakaichiÕs party is likely to score a
landslide victory in the February 8 lower house election, according
to a survey by the Asahi newspaper

Feb 1: Poll shows TakaichiÕs ruling bloc could
reach 300 seats, and even secure two-thirds
majority. Such a margin would allow it to override
upper house Š where it lacks a majority Š
by repassing legislation rejected by that chamber
