Chinese carmaker BYD claims to have developed an electric vehicle platform that enables drivers to charge their EVs in the time it takes to refuel a petrol-powered car, leaving other manufacturers in their dust

Acceleration 0-100km/h: 2.7 seconds
Speed: 306km/h
Motor: 30,000 RPM, increased power density – greater speed, lower weight and size
Flash-charging 10C battery: Capable of 10 cycles/hour
Lithium-iron-phosphate “Blade” battery – lower internal resistance, greater thermal and chemical stability, longer life
Power chip: Silicon carbide, voltage rating up to 1500V
