Arab leaders endorse Egyptian plan for Gaza

Egypt’s five-year proposal to rebuild the Gaza Strip is seen as a
counter to U.S. President Donald Trump’s idea of permanently
displacing Palestinians from the territory


Early recovery (6 months)

Begin clearing rubble from main
Gaza highway and other areas

Set up temporary housing units
across Gaza to take in 1.2 million
displaced people
Repair 60,000 damaged homes
to accommodate 360,000 people


Reconstruction I (2 years)

Gradually restore infrastructure
such as water, electricity and
telecommunications services

Construct 200,000 permanent
homes for 1.6 million people

Rehabilitate 8,000 hectares of
