Fastest woman to cycle globe

U.S. “ultra-endurance” cyclist Lael Wilcox, 38, has become the fastest woman to circumvent the globe by bike, crossing 21 countries on four continents and beating the previous record by 16 days


Lael Wilcox took 108 days and 12 hours to cycle 29,169km, beating 2018 record held by Jenny Graham, from Scotland, who took 124 days and 11 hours to complete journey

Vedangi Kulkarni, 25, from India, is into her attempt, aiming to complete ride in 110 days


GUINNESS RULES

Riders to start and end in same place, always travelling in same direction

Minimum distance travelled must surpass 28,970km

Entire journey, including flights, ferries and public transit, should exceed 40,075km – circumference of Earth’s equator
