New York Police deploy Digidog

The New York Police Department is enlisting a remote-controlled robotic dog – Boston Dynamics’ “Spot” — an agile 32-kilogram digidog able to climb stairs and survey hazards


Navigation: Built-in stereo cameras on front, back and sides of robot

360° perception: Can map terrain and avoid obstacles as they appear

Payload: Can carry and power up to 14kg of inspection equipment

Mobility: Runs over loose gravel, grass, curbs and steps

Mounting rails: Allow attachment of exterior hardware for bomb disposal or hostage standoffs
