The Manhattan District Attorney (DA) has indicted Donald Trump on 34 counts of falsifying New York business records

Oct 2016: Payment made on Trump’s behalf by lawyer Michael Cohen (right). Trump later repays Cohen $130,000 in series of monthly cheques disguised to look like payments for legal services – hence charge of false business records
             
2006: Alleged extramarital affair between Daniels and Trump – cause of alleged hush-money payment

2018: Cohen sentenced to three years in prison for variety of fraudulent activities
