King Charles III banknotes unveiled

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Bank of England has unveiled new polymer banknotes featuring King Charles III

Notes featuring Queen remain legal tender


New notes will enter circulation from mid-2024 as old ones wear out. Portrait, which also features in see-through security window, is only change to existing designs

£5 note features former Prime Minister Winston Churchill on reverse

£10: Author Jane Austen on reverse

£20: Painter JMW Turner on reverse

£50: Mathematician Alan Turing on reverse
