that his election fraud claims led to riot
   
Trump response: Denies allegation. Describes committee as “kangaroo court”. Continues to make unsubstantiated voter fraud allegations

Seriousness: Committee* votes to subpoena Trump, making him obliged to testify to Congress. Will likely defy subpoena


MAR-A-LAGO

Investigation: Department of Justice looking into movement of thousands of documents from White House to Mar-a- Lago†, some marked as “top secret”

Trump response: Denies wrong-doing, saying he declassified material when president. Has not said why documents were moved

Seriousness: Active criminal investigation could bring charges of violating Espionage Act and Obstruction of Justice

Investigation: Alleged attempts to overturn 2020 presidential election result. Prosecutors have phone recording of Trump calling state’s top election official saying: “I just want to find 11,780 votes” – amount needed to give him victory
   
Trump response: Describes chief prosecutor Fani Willis (below left) as “radical left Democrat”

Seriousness: Allegations are serious and if indicted and convicted, people will go to prison. Unknown if Trump directly investigated, but former personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani (left) is – he led legal challenges disputing election result
