German artillery deployed in Ukraine 

German PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers – one of the most powerful artillery weapons in the Bundeswehr’s arsenal – have arrived in Ukraine in the first delivery of heavy weapons from Berlin


Panzerhaubitze 2000: Crew of five – commander, driver, gunner, two loaders 

Speed (road): 60km/h

Fuel range: 420km

General purpose MG3 7.62mm machine gun

Main armament: Rheinmetall L-52 155mm howitzer
 
Gun can fire three rounds in 9.0 seconds and up to 10 rounds per minute

Range: NATO shells up to 30k or up to 40km with “assisted projectiles”

Powerplant: Eight-cylinder Ka-500 diesel developing 1,000PS (736kW)

Automated loading system: Shell transport system needs special training. 60 rounds are stored in tray racks on hull floor, or in bins at back of turret

155mm shells: High explosive, illumination rounds, multispectral smoke projectiles, sensor-fused SMart rounds, and practice ammunition
