Boris Johnson is facing fresh scrutiny after Britain’s ITV News claimed a party took place in the garden of 10 Downing Street, breaking strict Covid lockdown rules in place at the time

Martin Reynolds, Prime Minister’s Principal Private Secretary, sends email invitation to 100 people:
“Hi all, after what has been an incredibly busy period we thought it would be nice to make the most of the lovely weather and have some socially distanced drinks in the No 10 garden this evening. Please join us from 6pm and bring your own booze!”

ITV says that around 40 people accepted invitation, including Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson
 
At that time, outside gatherings of more than two people from different households were forbidden under Covid rules
