New coronavirus – known as 2019-nCov – comes from family of viruses that can cause common cold as well as more serious illnesses such as SARS* outbreak that spread from China to other countries in 2002-2003 and killed about 800 people

Health experts believe virus is spreading via human-to-human transmission, specifically through respiratory tract, with possibility of viral mutation. Mutations can make disease spread faster or make people more ill
