Kim Jong-un’s rail journey to Vietnam

A marathon train trip from Pyongyang to Vietnam – via China – could take at least two days and see the North Korean leader cover more than 3,000km for his second summit with U.S. President Donald Trump

Three trains reportedly operate each time leader travels
1. Advance train checks safety of railway lines
2. Leader’s train follows between 20 minutes and one hour after first
3. Third train carries additional bodyguards and communications equipment

Helicopters and planes provide extra security


Kim’s private train: Armour-plated, fitted with satellite phones, bedrooms and conference spaces. Each of 21 carriages is bulletproof, giving entire train average speed of just 60km/h
