The 2018 U.S. Open celebrates 50 years of tennis in the Open era with the completion of a five-year, $550 million transformation of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre

Retractable roof completed in 2016 – made from translucent Teflon-coated fabric over steel frame. Closes in less than 10 minutes, allowing all-weather match play

Field courts demolished and rebuilt from scratch in time for 2016 event, creating more seating and access for fans

Louis Armstrong Stadium
Capacity: 14,061
New venue with retractable roof ready for 2018. Stadium sides covered with terracotta louvres
positioned to maintain natural ventilation while keeping wind and rain out
