Airbus tests drone delivery service

The Skyways project aims to use drones to provide an efficient delivery service of small parcels to staff and students across the campus of the National University of Singapore

SKYWAYS DRONE: Octocopter designed to carry payload of 2-4kg

DELIVERY
1 Robotic arm loads package on to underside of drone
2 Drone flies autonomously via air corridor between parcel stations
3 Drone lands, robotic arm places parcel in locker
4 Recipient notified by mobile that parcel is ready to collect

GPS and precision localization system corrects position of drone when approaching delivery station

If university test is successful, system could be extended to service ships anchored in Port of Singapore
