Norway seeks “Tesla tax” on electric cars

Norway – a world leader in zero-emission vehicles – is proposing a one-off tax that will hit owners of large electric cars which have hitherto been exempt from heavy taxes imposed on other vehicles

Tax proposal: Would add as much as €8,855 (NKr82,800) to cost of Tesla Model X

Sep 2017: 6,524 electric car sales (48.4% market share)
