2 Jul 6, Poland: U.S. President Donald Trump will visit Poland ahead of the G20 summit to emphasize the “priority of strengthening NATO’s collective defence”. He will also attend the Three Seas Initiative summit, which brings together leaders of 12 nations from central, eastern and southern Europe

6 Jul 1, Thailand: The trial of ousted prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, which began in
2015, is due to conclude. She could be jailed for 10 years if found guilty of buying rice from farmers at above market prices in her government’s rice-pledging programme

7 Jul 11, Switzerland: An Extraordinary IOC Session will award hosting rights for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics at the same time. Paris and Los Angeles, the only candidates left in the race for 2024, are likely to be confirmed, with only the order of who goes first still to be decided

Jul 11, Space: NASA plans to fly its Juno probe directly over Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, one of the most iconic features in the solar system, to discover what is below the mammoth swirling crimson cloud tops
