Hungary MPs approve anti-migrant fence

Hungary’s parliament has passed new legislation tightening the country’s asylum system and approved plans to erect a fence on the border with Serbia to stem the flow of migrants and refugees

1 Hungary: Constructionof 4m-high, 175km-longfence expected to begin immediately. Over 70,000 migrants entered country illegally in 2015, mostly via Serbia. New legislation allows detention of migrants in temporary camps, speeding up of asylum application review process and limiting possibility for appeal
