A guitar played by George Harrison in the Beatles’ early days is the star item at a two-day music memorabilia auction at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square, New York City

Australian-made solid-body guitar was played by Harrison in July and August of 1963. He had it on loan from Barratt’s Music in Manchester while his Gretsch Country Gentlemann was being repaired
