U.S. election night graphics advisory

Two results graphics will be updated during America's big night, based on data from the Associated Press -- the sole source of election returns.

1. GN23619 (163mm wide by 133mm deep) A three-column presidential election graphic showing how states have voted and the candidatesÕ progress towards the vital 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency.

2. GN23620 (52mm wide by 98mm deep) A single column Congress graphic showing new allocation of seats in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

First results from AmericaÕs East Coast will be available around 21:00EST, (01:00GMT on Wednesday, November 5).

If there is a clear majority, we should know who is the next president, and which party has a majority in the House and Senate by 10:00GMT, Wednesday.

Final graphics should move shortly after the following local times on Wednesday:

Note: Counting in marginal/disputed states may hold up the final results.
