The ruling centrist coalition candidate Jose Serra is thought too uncharismatic to overturn LulaŐs lead. October 9: Aileen Wuornos, one of the USŐs first known female serial killers, is due to be executed in Florida, for shooting seven men on the stateŐs highways. The 46-year-old prostituteŐs story has been portrayed in two films, three books and an opera. October 10: Parliamentary elections will mark a return to democracy in a country ruled by General Pervez Musharraf since his 1999 coup. Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, convicted of corruption and living in self-imposed exile, is among opponents banned from standing.
