Game show host named as worst dressed

LONDON, January 9, Graphic News: Who is several accessories short of an ensemble? Anne Robinson is, according to the American fashion guru known only as Blackwell. His annual worst-dressed list has become a Hollywood tradition. 

The acid-tongued critic -- who put the ÒWeakest LinkÓ host at the top of his worst-dressed women list for 2001 -- described Robinson on Tuesday as ÒfashionÕs weakest link. Looks like Harry Potter in drag. A Hogwarts horror!Ó 

Britney Spears was No. 2 on his 42nd annual worst list for outfits he called Òbelly-baring bombs.Ó Actress Juliette Binoche, whom he termed Òa haute couture catastrophe,Ó was third. Pop divas DestinyÕs Child took fourth place for being Òa trilogy of taste-free terror,Ó in Mr. BlackwellÕs eyes. 

As if singer Bjork didnÕt already hear enough ridicule for the outfit she wore at last yearÕs Academy Awards, Blackwell called her get-up Òa ÔSwan LakeÕ mistakeÓ and ranked her No. 5.

Rounding out the list: Princess Stephanie of Monaco -- Òher wardrobe has the allure of nuclear wasteÓ; Kate Hudson Òlooks like a cyclone victim from the OK CorralÓ; Camilla Parker Bowles Òpacks the punch of a dilapidated Yorkshire puddingÓ; Cameron Diaz Òchaos in heels, period!Ó and Gillian Anderson Ògrunge plunge resembling an escape from a Bohemian barbecue.Ó

On the high end of his spectrum, Julia Roberts leads BlackwellÕs ÒFabulous Fashion Independents for 2001," followed by Oprah Winfrey and Diane Sawyer. He also complimented opera singer Renee Fleming, Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joan Allen, Penelope Cruz and Renee Zellweger.
