All rights reserved NINE LINE UP AT WOODBINE By Midge Todhunter LONDON, October 14, Graphic News: NINE RUNNERS look set to line up for the fourth leg of the Emirates Series World Championship Ð the Canadian International staged at Woodbine Racecourse near the bustling, multi-cultural city of Toronto on Sunday October 17. Three challengers have treavelled from Britain, including Fruits of Love from the Mark Johnston stable, already with four World Series points to his credit, with reigning British champion jockey Kieren Fallon on board. A proven ÒtravellerÓ, Fruits of Love will be a strong contender for the race, having been lightly raced since storming to victory in the Dubai Turf Classic in March. Bienamado, owned by ex-football pools mogul Robert Sangster, has made the trip along with Courteous Ð the Paul Cole trained victor of the highly competitive Grand Prix de Deauville, who side-stepped the recent Prix de lÕArc de Triomphe specifically for this event. Top California trainer Neil Drysdale returns Tanaasa, second in the Niagara BreedersÕ Cup at Woodbine last month. Two other American challengers are Beautiful Dancer, fourth in the Man OÕWar Stakes, and Gritty Sandie, last seen out winning the Grade 3 Lawrence Realisation at Belmont on September 26. Local runners include DawsonÕs Legacy, winner of the Sky Classic Handicap at Belmont on September 25 and Thornfield Ð winner of the recent Niagara BreedersÕ Cup at Woodbine. The points system for the World Series has been developed from the familiar standard of Formula One Grands Prix, as recognised by sports fans. /ENDS
