LONDON, December 22, Graphic News: NICE-GUY Matt Damon will show an evil side as a charming but deadly sociopath in an upcoming film.
He will play the twisted role in Anthony MinghellaÕs ÔThe Talented Mr RipleyÕ, due for release next month.
Damon and childhood pal Ben Affleck have teamed up in another film Ð this time as fallen angels trying to return to Heaven.
The pair, sentenced to live out eternity in Wisconsin, are co-starring in Kevin SmithÕs religious satire, ÔDogmaÕ, due for release next year.
DamonÕs unknown status changed overnight when the reigning godfather of film cinema, Francis Ford Coppola, handpicked him to star in his adaptation of John GrishamÕs best-selling legal potboiler, ÔThe RainmakerÕ. 
His success accelerated the production of ÔGood Will HuntingÕ, co-written by co-stars Damon and Affleck, for which they won an Oscar award for best original screenplay.
Damon starred alongside Tom Hanks in the flag-waving World War II tearjerker ÔSaving Private RyanÕ.
