The emphasis is on action, powerful drama and high-tech adventures set in and around the information superhighway Ð plus a controversial erotic thriller which has enraged feminists in the United States. Due for release: January 19 GET SHORTY Drama Ð Rene Russo stars in this big screen adaption of Ellmore LeonardÕs satire of Tinseltown when a small-time gangster takes on Hollywood. STRANGE DAYS Sci-Fi Ð Ralph Fiennes stars in this thriller set in the year 1999 when illegally recorded memories have become hot properties on the information superhighway. Due for release: January 12 SHOWGIRLS Erotic Ð HollywoodÕs first ÔXÕ-rated film in five years focuses on the lives and steamy dancing of a troupe of dancers in Las Vegas. Due for release: January 12 HACKERS Thriller Ð Fast-paced action when a group of young hackers are framed for a high level corporate scam. JOHNNY MNEMONIC Sci-Fi Ð Keanu Reeves stars as a messenger boy with vital information secretly recorded in his brain and on the run from potential killers. Due for release: January 5 DESPERADO Action Ð Hip, action-packed story of a Mexican cowboy played by Antonio Banderas and also starring Quentin Tarantino.
